I have this bad habit of pointedly /not/ going to see any movie that the mob (i.e. the general public) raves about. To the point of digging my heels in and waiting until it shows up on regular cable (a la Austin Powers). And often, the more people rave, the less I like the movie once I actually see it (a la Titanic).

I prefer to be interested in a movie for its own value, rather than feel 'pressured' by other people telling me I /have/ to see it. Like my life's gonna end if I don't. :)
