I'm so sorry. It's not much comfort, but at least she was well and loved right up to the end, and did not have any protracted suffering. She was with you and she was happy, and you couldn't have done anything better or differently. Sometimes horrible things just happen. I hate that this is something that inevitably comes along with taking an animal into your life.
