Most of these were found in the gaystr8alliance and the green_stripe communities, or ysabel's journal. If I missed crediting anyone, please let me know.

First up: The organization Christians for Dean has a very interesting perspective on how many Christians feel about the gay marriage issue.

Secondly, it's not only far-left folks who are against Bush -- so are some conservatives.

Next, The AFA has decided not to take their poll results to Congress because some sinister forces had made the poll, and this is a direct quote, "represent something other than what we wanted it to." The charming fellow also tacitly admits that they didn't want it to be all-inclusive by way of this gem: "It just so happens that homosexual activist groups around the country got a hold of the poll -- it was forwarded to them". I wonder, had things turned out differently, if they would have claimed the poll was a fair representation.

Anyone who feels cheated that their poll results were for naught should check out the many surveys posted by the Traditional Values Coalition. Most of the polls are ongoing, but I do find a lot of ironic humor in the poll asking if the Washington snipers are the result of an Islamic terrorist cell (55.78% said "yes"). The wording is very loaded, so be careful to read twice before answering "yes" or "no".

Penultimately, just to get things on a good note, Samantha Bennett makes some cool (pun may or may not be intended) observations about Canada.

And, finally, if you're 18 or older and haven't yet registered to vote, the folks at Working For a Change have made doing so easy.

Heh, I'm not far-left and I loathe Bush. I used to be a card-carrying Libertarian before I decided that I couldn't stomach such things as unfettered laissez-faire economics and opposition to public schools. I've been drifting left since then, but not on all issues. Being both Christian and bi, tho, I can't say that I'm ever going to be part of the Religious Right :).

Right now, I tend to sound far-left because there's nothing I can say about George II that's nasty enough :).

And what the AFA actual does with its poll results doesn't matter that much. The publicity it got means that more of us know what the real results were than we would have if it had gone the way they intended.

I don't think I have eloquent enough words to fully encompass the degree of anger I have torwards the conservative right for what they have done to the reputation of my religion.

I think, tho, the words of Jesus Christ himself when condemning the Pharisees will do nicely.
