Another Ending

Somewhere between 18:30 and 19:30 mountain <whatever> time, William Emerson Rigsbee died. He had been getting more tired, but the cancer had not progressed to the point where he needed pain medication. [livejournal.com profile] callicrates could use all the hugs he can get.

Please give him one for me, along with my sympathy.

Have sent e-mail --please let me know if it gets there. Thanks.

And *hug*.

Incidentially, I was surprised to discover Andy's grandfather, Andy's father, and Andy himself in an online family tree database with lines as far back as the early 1600's. The pedigree can be seen here

It needs updating, tho, as it doesn't have Andy's marriage to you. :-)

I also had no idea --or perhaps had forgotten, apologies-- that Andy could trace his lineage down his mother's side all the way back to the Mayflower. Wow.

Oh, it gets better. John Howland (my great^16 grandfather) not only came over on the Mayflower, he fell off halfway across. This is documented in Of Plymouth Plantation. Luckily for him (and for me) he caught hold of one of the topsail halyards and was hauled back into the boat.

Please give him [livejournal.com profile] jklgoduke's and my sympathies.

I said so to Andy personally, but he has my and Terran's deepest sympathies.
