With warranties check what you're getting. I haven't bought big appliances out here, but I know my MIL has a sear's washing machine/dryer, and she's had it 10 years and used it to wash all the things from her marina business and household stuff. It's broken down and been fixed more times than it cost her for a warranty. Also, check into the new rotating drum washing machines, it's very european, but saves a lot of energy and stuff, and doesn't mess up your clothes. Why you merkins only just got into this I do not know! :)
