Whee. I meant to post yesterday, being that it was a busy productive day and everything. Then out connection went thump and stayed that way until Andy got home from work today. As he was on hold the connection miraculously went live again. It's probably an indication of my mood that I wasn't all too stressed out between the two times. In a pinch, TV news (specifically CNN) can be useful.

Yesterday I was up well in time to get Andy to school for his early demo. My walk was partially soaked when it began pouring in round four. By the time I went in it was back to a drizzle. Lilah called back just like she promised, though she had no news. The guy she needs to talk to has been out the last few days and may be in Friday. Andy's mom also called; his grandmother's 50th anniversary is this year. Actually it falls on the same day as our fifth anniversary, which I think is neat due to the factor of ten thing. We'd been invited, and they'll be using frequent flier miles to get us to it to surprise her.

It's actually the week before our anniversary, which is good because Andy is due home from his interview on our anniversary. This means that we'll be flying back from London on the 1st, to and from Indianapolis on the 4th-6th, and then he'll be going to and from New Mexico on the 9th-11th. We'll also be flying to Washington DC in late April (darn, we'll probably miss another game). I think he'll be cured of any airplane pining which he might have had.

Yesterday I filled some prescriptions for both of us (we're taking full bottles of meds in case anything happens which causes us to spend extra time in London) and took Gail to get shot. As always she was a sweetie, and the vet and technician both adored her. Once the vet began examining her she laid very still, and her only complaint was a sad little squeak at one point. When I got her home (and today) she was in hyper-affectionate mode, almost as if she wanted to make sure we still loved her or something. We'll need to take her back to get her teeth cleaned after we get back from England; she has a history of gum problems and, even though they cleared up after some steroid shots and two months of antibiotics, the vet doesn't want to tempt fate. I feel so guilty whenever I take either kitty to the vet. I don't know how parents can do it with children.

Today was Andy's lunch with Tanner day, and since our connection was dead I noodled around doing minor cleaning stuff until he got home. Then I got the complicated part of making sour cream noodle bake done and drove him to school. The walk was cold but dry after a morning of pouring rain. Some areas of the apartment complex are flooded. Right now it's very foggy, and the streetlamps are doing a cool glowy thing. No firefly impostors, though. I hope we get to see some fireflies before we move wherever. Anyway, I made the rest of dinner (I may need to give up on rice pasta. It falls apart such that it was hard to tell there were noodles at all. I might as well have just added cooked rice), caught up on net foo, then watched Andy play Final Fantasy.

I finally made a resolve today to start acting like we may be moving soon and getting rid of stuff. My first target is clothing. I have a ton of stuff which has been sitting in the dresser in the spare bedroom for years, literally. Andy wears about six of his winter shirts over and over; the rest have collected dust all winter. I also was hoping to find one of my outfits so I could wear it to England. Last year I tossed a token bag of clothes; I'm beginning to think I may have chucked the "see how you feel about it in the spring" bag instead of the "toss immediately" one. Oh well, I may find it tucked away somewhere.

I'm trying to decide what to do with the clothes. Many of the t-shirts are nice, if yellowed with age; I could donate them or even try selling them on ebay. The sweatshirts are all stained or I'd be keeping most of them. I've tried everything, including direct application of bleach to the stains, and they're not about to go away. There are some outfits from Coldwater Creek and Simply Southwest which claim to be 3x but which are a tight fit; they could be donated or auctioned. There are some things with holes which might be mended, but really wouldn't be fit to donate. Anyway, if anyone out there is generally large to extra large and needs some clothes, let me know. I'll gladly e-mail a list of what I have, and I'd probably ask to split the shipping, but they're free for the asking. Many of the t-shirts and sweatshirts have funny sayings, there's some Star Trek stuff, and the sweatshirts could be used for messy house chores like painting.
