Week 11 Update, Fall
This week we got our second theatre exam (China) back. I got 172 out of 200. The professor has given us guidelines for any number of extra credit assignments. She's letting us do two-page response papers to Oswego performances (theatre will get more credit than music, but she will give credit for music) or to professional theatre performances over Thanksgiving break. I'm thinking of doing three; two plays which I'd planned on seeing and a choir concert I'd already planned on attending.
In my genre class I got back my second paper; B+. Paper #3 is due on Thursday.
On Saturday I played in the Changeling LARP again. My character got some networking in, and two big plots got concluded, though some actions in one of them may end up having future ramifications. I'm going to work on my character during downtime since I have a copy of the book now.

Angst alert!
Iris and her identical twin, Rose, grew up in Oswego, the daughters of two unnamed university professors. They had been spending their last summer together before Rose went off to SUNY Potsdam, with Iris sticking close to home and attending SUNY Oswego. A true Fae with a thing for identical twins took them in the late summer of 2009. He shaped them into opposing elemental forces; Iris into ice and Rose into fire. Once they realized they could no longer stay in one another's presence for any appreciable amount of time they resolved to escape back to the real world, figuring that if they just got out, they could go back to life as normal.
The escape failed, and the Master decided to try an experiment on them. He suspended Iris from the ceiling of a small room, with Rose on the floor, and sat back to watch and see which died first (with several other Nobles in attendance). Although the wagers favored fire, the melting water from ice doused Rose before Iris had melted completely.
The Noble seemed to lose interest in Iris since she was no longer a twin. She escaped with no apparent pursuit on his part, and found her way back to one of the points where the hedge meets Oswego. It turned out that no fetch(es) had been placed, and six days had elapsed in the real world.
When Iris was first found all she could talk about was being taken to a strangely beautiful land and being experimented upon. The police have pieced together that Rose drowned, and Iris believes she was somehow responsible. They are currently going on the belief that the twins were kidnapped by some sicko with a Mengele complex and that Rose drowned while escaping. They consider Iris' ramblings about the beautiful other land to be just that -- the ramblings of someone with PTSD.
As with most changelings, Iris swiftly forgot virtually everything of her time in Faerie, reliving scenes in quickly-fading nightmares. She is in counseling, but the psychoanalysts and her parents believe the best thing for her right now is to try to return to some semblance of normality, and in that vein she is attending college as originally planned.
Oswego is apparently a very easy exit to find from the hedge, as quite a few people have ended up there (eg, the PCs). This may explain how she found her way back home even while entering the hedge unaided. Three of Iris' four professors are changelings themselves, as are many of her classmates. She is pissed off (her virtue is valor and her vice is wrath), and would like nothing more than to kill her master, or any other true Fae if that can't be arranged. She appears, to other changelings, as an iris encased in a half-melted block of ice. To humans she looks like I did twenty or so years ago, but pretty (presence of 3).
Iris has joined the summer court, liking their no-nonsense approach in relation to the Fae. She has an idea, which she's not told anyone yet, of starting something like an Underground Railroad to get other humans out of Faerie. She would like nothing more than to become a Harriet Tubman figure on such a venture, hopefully with the same success rate.
