It gave her until mid-January to get out, but said she'd be responsible for all of January rent.
Honestly, she needs to see if there's a rental board or at least check state law where she lives. This sounds pretty damn illegal to me. You can't charge rent when you are not allowing the rentor to occupy the space they are paying for at the time. I've never seen any law that allows this to happen.
