Iron Chef

Today Andy and I saw Iron Chef for the first time. He was channel-flipping and decided he had to see what everyone is talking about. By halfway through the show we agreed that Mr. Shatner is truly perfectly cast for that role.

I've almost caught up on laundry. Another thing I love about this apartment: the washer and dryer are so quiet. I have to go check it sometimes to see if it's even running. I could get used to this very easily.

I have no idea what we'll be doing tomorrow. Unpacking more and getting boxes broken down and on the porch are safe bets. I might work on re-arranging the kitchen; Andy basically picked first available cabinet to unload things in (he did keep them together, so dishes aren't mixed with spices or anything like that), and some of them would be more intuitive elsewhere. If I haven't mentioned it recently I love my husband. He has done such an awesome job unpacking and figuring out where to put things. And he's wonderful for cuddling.

If you haven't seen the original Japanese version, with the American voiceovers, you haven't lived. These are generally on the Food Network....you should look them up, if you have the appropriate Cable or Satellite means.

Iron Chef USA (or whatever it's called, the one with Shatner) is a pale, pathetic imitation of the original Japanese version. Which is why the USA version lasted for like 2 episodes and the Japanese version for a few hundred.

Aw, you need to see the original Iron Chef, with the guy in the cheesy outfits and english voiceovers that are really amusing.

Iron Chef *rocks*. But, dittoing all above, you *have* to watch the Japanese version --that is truly, truly nuts. :-)

And yes, hooray for [livejournal.com profile] callicrates! :-)
