Update

Andy and I are home after a completely uneventful drive. We are stuffed with good Chinese food and have made up for lost time with the kitties. Jewel's mom got our frantic message that we might not be able to make it home tonight, so she'd come over and fed them. She also brought a balloon for them to play with, and Gail's mostly demolished the string. When we got home I went over to tell Jewel's folks that they wouldn't need to come by in the morning. Jewel let me pet her for awhile, then sat between the door and me as if daring me to leave without paying feather toy tax. Her mom eventually had to pull out the feather toy and distract her so I could make good my escape.
