If anyone would like some jewelry based around 3.5mm round natural peridot (August's birthstone), be it for you or as a gift for a friend/relative, please let me know.
The price range would be anywhere from $5.00 (plus shipping) for the very cheapest snap-tite settings, which I recommend against, to quite a lot if you go with 18 or 24k heavier settings. If you want a multi-stone ring, I could get one like my mom's for anywhere from 47 to 70 dollars; it was 10k and accepts 3 to 7 stones. I do have three amethysts, an aquamarine, an emerald, and a sapphire lying around in 3.5mm as well.
Tell me what you want (I have a paid account so my e-mail is willowisp (at) livejournal (dot) com and I'll see if I can find settings and how much they would cost!
Memo to others: unless she wants some 50 peridots set, I will have plenty left even after finishing hers.
Well, it's for my niece, who's about 4. I'd like to make her a little pendant out of it... so while I don't think that 18K would be a good idea, something nice would be apprieciated... what do you think?
I've put together a web page of what I could find here (http://www.spundreams.net/~cat/choices.html). Unfortunately it looks like pendants are expected to have larger stones, so there's not much. The range is $3.72 for the very cheapest up to $38.45 for the most expensive. These prices are pre-shipping and such. I would recommend going for the Jammin' non snap-tite if you want round ($5.43) sterling or for the filigree heart ($7.42). I have the latter and it's very pretty and not too huge. For GF there isn't much of a choice; $3.84 round-only. For 14k I would say go with the cluster or the heart; the cluster isn't as expensive as and the heart isn't much more than the flimsy snap-tite on ebay and both are certainly prettier. That's just me, though.
For those following this, earrings and rings are probably easier to find 3mm/3.5mm settings for.
