Aug. 26th, 2002 10:56 pmThe two flights home were, for once, completely uneventful. I got to Syracuse with time to spare, the plane took off on time, it arrived in Philadelphia on time, and that flight took off on time or very close thereto. The second flight was a bit crowded, but that's actually a good thing -- that means this route will hopefully not go away once USAirways begins shaving flights.
Andy was waiting for me at the airport -- what a wonderful sight. We ate out for dinner since he didn't want to make me cook, and then came home to be greeted by some furballs. It's so nice to be able to pick up and cuddle the cat which looks like Gail without having the heck beaten out of me. By the by, Noia may not be a demon cat from hell -- she may only be a devil cat from heck. She was quite nice this morning.
After Andy and I made up for lost time I ordered the bulk of his birthday and graduation presents and checked fares to Syracuse for September. I originally wanted to go to see my aunt, my cousin (Kim) and her new baby (Justin), but now we don't know if they'll be coming. I may go anyway, though -- Andy thinks visiting Grandpa is a very good reason. I think he may also like the alone time so he can watch movies and play video games which I'm not much fond of. Plus I don't interrupt him every few minutes while he's trying to write his dissertation.
I may've brought back some of Rome's weather with me. It rained (another teaser, but still rain) while we were driving home from the airport and currently it's just barely under 70 degrees outside. They're predicting scattered showers and thunderstorms for the rest of the week. If we can just have a few nice long steady rains we could probably salvage something. I hope all of the predicted rain doesn't end up being in the form of five-minute teasers or downpours which run off too quickly to do any good.
