Yesterday was not worth writing about. Mondays should be banned, full stop.

I got up and went back to sleep several times this morning, even after coffee. Luckily Andy didn't need to be to work early for any reason, though I'm hoping I do better tomorrow when he has to be in at 11:00 for a demo. Hopefully I'll only be trying to sleep in one bedroom tonight, too.

I took two walks today, both full-length. The first was after I drove Andy to school, as has become my habit. It's already heating up though, so I may have to switch tactics. Anyway, when Andy was ready to come home I still hadn't done this week's grocery shopping, and he mentioned that he'd been hoping for alone time again today. I decided to take the second walk in order to give him the hour (and the walk turned out to be 70 minutes, which is vaguely worrisome). On the list of things you don't see every day: a man on a skateboard using a cell phone while walking a dog on a leash.

After I'd been checked out I went out to the parking lot to wait for Andy, then decided to check and see if the floral manager (Lilah) was there. She was, and I think I got a mini-interview; she asked what I knew about floral stuff, and told me what duties she performs, currently alone since the only other floral department person works on Lilah's days off. She has to check with someone else before she can do anything, but she took my number and is going to call tomorrow, provided the guy is in. I feel sort of uneasy, since Andy is going for an interview in New Mexico the week of our anniversary. If he gets the job it means I'd only be working for a few weeks, maybe a month or two. Month-long stints of employment don't look good on resumes. I also said I could work weekends, but between when I applied and today every weekend in April has been booked, and two weekends each for as long as we'll be here have become spoken for. Oh well, I'll see what happens if/when Lilah calls.

Thena and Gail have been very affectionate since we got back from Heather and Denny's. Gail is doing her "pet me here, no here, no here" routine and taking every opportunity to be cute. Thena, on the other paw, has been herding me over to the tv-watching chair so she can occupy my lap. Thank goodness for the two of them yesterday. Today Gail spent a good long while grooming my face. It's sort of surprising how gentle she is when she does so; she seems to know that bare skin, unlike fur, can't deal too well with the claw and tooth treatments. Now if only she'd learn the difference between human scalps and kitty fur. Thena was acting oddly today -- she didn't ask for food until late in the afternoon, whereas she's usually instrumental in us being awake well before feeding time.

I got a lot of housework done today, and I also gathered up stuff to take to London. Mostly it was stuff which I don't want to forget to take to [livejournal.com profile] erish. Some of it's a surprise, since she may read this, but Andy did remember to tell me about the pudding and the Rice A Roni. I found the former while shopping today but they didn't appear to carry the specific type of the latter. Tomorrow I'm going to fill/refill all of our prescriptions, so I'll look at the grocery store attached to the pharmacy. Andy found the electrical outlet adapter, and although we knew exactly where the passports were, they're now out. It's hard to believe the trip is only six days away. One of the few salvageable parts of yesterday included booking the hotel room for our last night there. I'm not used to businesses responding to e-mail that quickly, and I'm duly impressed with the hotel.

Sorry to hear about your crummy Monday. Glad Thena and Gail are able to take care of you.

In case I don't get a chance to say it before you and Andy go --which is quite possible, things going on here as they have been-- bon voyage and happy travels! :-)
