Actually, both kitties can be quite entertaining, but today it's Gail, who has been far more skittish than usual recently. I'm guessing this might be due to the whole construction mess on Monday (they've been working on the other side of the building these past few days so no noise and no vibrating furniture) and also possibly the nightly thunder we've been having for the past few weeks.
Anyway, the other day I got one of those 65cm exercise balls for use as a spare chair (long story). Thena was wary and somewhat curious as I inflated it, but Gail was downright terrified. Tonight was Geek's Night, which means some friends came over for pizza and to watch Junkyard Wars/Scrapheap Challenge. One of them is a juggler, so he began bouncing the ball on his head, and Gail retreated to her box. Then Andy began bouncing it near her, which resulted in an expression of equal parts curiousity and terror -- she looked like she wanted to run away and hide and bat at it at the same time.
The thunder which has been teasing for weeks finally produced some rain today. It only lasted for about half an hour and it came in spurts interspersed with drizzles, but at least it was something. Hopefully we'll have a few more thunderstorms which include lightning and rain; currently all of the counties surrounding us are in mandatory water restrictions.
In other news, I listed my first hand-made jewelry item on eBay tonight, and I feel like I was not ready for that step. On the other hand I know myself well enough to realize that I never would have felt ready, left to my own devices. I figure the worst that can happen is that I'll get no bids. I should probably update my about-me page, though, so I'll cut the journal entry off here. Take care!
